Short Bio:

Elisabeth (Libby) Roberts is a multi-disciplinary artist, educator, and scholar who is currently completing her Ph.D. in musicology/cognition at the University of Western Ontario under the supervision of Jonatha De Souza. Growing up in upstate New York, she began musical involvement in her childhood with piano, and has since maintained involvement in music as a performer, a composer, and researcher. Comfortable in a variety of idioms, her work onstage often incorporates melodic and tuneful textures within the framework of interdisciplinary mediums (including electronic, vocal, orchestral, and participatory features). As a researcher and academic, Libby has focused her efforts on understanding music's role in the life story through post-disciplinary approaches. Her developing dissertation addresses the influence of digital media on music-evoked autobiographical memory. She has engaged in music education for a decade, currently student teaching courses in music theory, history, and writing at Western. In her freetime, Libby enjoys spending time with her partner, Cameron, spending time outdoors, and training/competing as an amateur strength athlete.
